Luou Villa is located in the place of Luou, Parish of Santa Cruz, Municipality of Ponte de Lima, owing the origin of its name to the founder.

The first references to the Quinta date back to the eighteenth century and associate it to the Majorat of the Fundão House, in Loureira.

However, in the Charter of Beiral of the Lima in 1515, there is already mention of "Fernão de Luou". One of the activities of Luou Villa is its own brands ofwine production and marketing as being an integral part of the Route of the Vinhos Verdes.

As the Villa is located halfway between Ponte de Lima and Ponte da Barca, there has always been a continuous crossing of the Lima River by boat, which gave rise to the name of the wine "Barca do Lima". In addition to tourism and wine production, the Villa is also dedicated to forestry and animal breeding.
