The 19^th edition of the International Garden Festival under the theme "The Imaginary in the Art of Gardens” combines artistic creation with the exhibition of 12 ephemeral gardens renewed annually. Unique in Portugal, it is innovative in idea, concept and development, attracting creators from all over the world.

The fame of the International Garden Festival has already gone beyond borders, having been distinguished in 2013 with the title Garden Tourism Awards, at the "North American Garden Tourism Conference", in Toronto, Canada, and in 2017 with the distinction "Europe for Festivals, Festivals for Europe" – EFFE Label 2017-2018.
