The school was founded in May 9, 1991, as a result of a combination of institutional synergies.

Integrated into the national education system at the secondary level, EPADRPL acquired the status of a Public School on January 1, 2000, yet being vocational, offering courses with a duration of three years, which confer a level III certification, enabling students to enter the labor market as intermediate technicians and equivalence to continue their studies.

In the field of agricultural education, the vineyards, which already existed in the farm where it is installed, were being reclassified and so the school launched the wine "Vinhas do Cruzeiro". With a strong bet on the native grape varieties, Loureiro and Vinhão, they tried to reward quality over quantity.

This year they were distinguished in the Contest La Selezione del Sindaco, within the framework of the International Oenological Contest delle Cittá des Vino, witha silver medal for the wine Vinhas do Cruzeiro - Loureiro . More than 1100 wines from Europe and Brazil were put to the test at the XIV International Wine Competition "" La Selezione del Sindaco "", of which around 400 of these wines are Portuguese.
