The CIPVV, whose presidency has been assumed by the Portuguese Association of Wine Municipalities, has been the headquarters of the Iter Vitis in Portugal since the 4th of March of 2018. 

The inauguration was attended by Emanuella Panke, General Secretary of the Iter Vitis, José Maria Juan Alonso, Iter Vitis Spain and José Arruda, of the Portuguese Association of Wine Municipalities. 

Iter Vitis - The vineyards are recognized as part of the cultural itinerary of the Council of Europe, which comprises 18 European countries, and whose main objective is the development of wine tourism through the promotion and appreciation of the cultural and historical heritage as well as the landscape associated with the vineyards and wine of excellence.

The Portuguese Way of Santiago, which runs through the whole Municipality of Ponte de Lima, will serve as a path for the Iter Vitis Route, as well as the Pilgrims' Hostel that will serve as "Domus of the Iter Vitis Network - The Paths of the Vine".

By way of the Centre for the Interpretation and Promotion of Vinho Verde (CIPVV), the municipality of Ponte de Lima is a candidate for the European Iter Vitis Award 2018, awarded by the Iter Vitis Association - Vineyards in Europe, designed to distinguish local initiatives which aim to support actions of valorisation and promotion of the viticultural heritage and wine tourism associated with local economic development.
