Considering tourism as a strategic axis of development, Ponte de Lima is a tourist destination of excellence, benefiting from a privileged location in the epicenter of the North Euro region of Portugal - Galicia, where gastronomy, wine tourism, historical and scenic heritage, nature and equestrian sports and quality accommodation complement for a very desirable offer with identity and quality, which tour operators look for.

In this context, two articles on Ponte de Lima were published last week in two UK newspapers, The Guardian and the Daily Mail.

The prestigious English newspaper The Guardian published an article identifying the best hotels in Portugal, at less than 100 pounds per night, in which it refers to Casa de Pomarchão - in Arcozelo - Ponte de Lima. Suggesting a passage through Northern Portugal and a stop at Ponte de Lima, The Guardian, describes the history and services of Casa de Pomarchão: "A 15th-century manor, which was augmented in 1775 in the Pombaline style with apartments furnished to the traditional style of the North of Portugal - imagine something with polished dark wood. It has a chapel, a swimming pool and breakfast with homemade cakes. It is 3 minutes away from the bank of the Lima river, in the recognized Old Village of Portugal".

In turn, the Daily Mail, begins by recalling the traditional legend of the Lethes River; two thousand years later, writes the Daily Mail, Ponte de Lima keeps the tradition alive: "standing near the water, 24, full-size legionnaires dressed in their uniforms, with their shield, robes and helmets, face the river as if they were going to cross it.” According to the Daily Mail, the "Oldest Village in Portugal is charming and quiet, with a seductive mix of historic houses that provide for walks along the waterfront, perfumed with bougainvillea and to the sound of church bells, and what once was the river of forgetfulness is now a place for kayaks and canoes. " On the Medieval Bridge, writes the Daily Mail, "the noble stone bridge and arcade have offered passage for centuries to the pilgrims of Santiago de Compostela." To conclude, the English newspaper mentions that "Ponte de Lima is a traditional wine production site. Light, dry white wine is produced here."
