The Old Village Hostel in Ponte de Lima, located in Via Foral Velho D. Teresa, near the Trucking Center, is one of the winners of the 5th edition of the Realizar Prize, an initiative promoted by Millennium BCP.

This annual initiative aims to boost the entrepreneurial spirit by rewarding successful entrepreneurs who found in Millennium BCP Microcredit the solution to achieve the goals of their projects.

In order to recognize the creativity and quality of the business ideas of these micro entrepreneurs, the Realizar Prize was divided into two categories: Dynamism and Innovation and Best Execution.

The winner of each of the categories received a prize of € 5,000, and an honorable mention of € 1,000 was awarded to each of the four finalists. The candidates for this 5th edition of the Realizar Prize were all micro entrepreneurs with projects approved by Millennium BCP Microcredit, between July 1, 2015 and June 30, 2016.

In the Best Execution category, the winner was Leandro Sá, with the «Old Village Hostel» project, in Ponte de Lima.

The author of the project revealed that creating the Old Village Hostel was an old dream when he was still working in Canada. After returning to his native town, he was able to carry out and make real the project, being a sought after place by a class of tourists who visit Ponte de Lima, as well as an overnight stay for pilgrims on the Portuguese Way to Santiago.
