The Municipality of Ponte de Lima welcomes the appointment of Carmo's Boutique Hotel for The World Luxury Hotel Awards 2016. This is a world-class award that annually awards luxury hotels that stand out for their excellence of facilities, service and hospitality provided to guests.

Regarded as a reference in the luxury tourism segment, Carmo's Boutique Hotel has been operating since June 2012 in the parish of Gemieira. Made up of 15 rooms, it is inserted in a rural area, with an intimate and refined atmosphere, coupled with personalized service, aiming to make its guests feel at home. In a space where tradition and modernity coexist harmoniously, all rooms offer a decor that combines contemporary design and pride in its cultural roots and where every detail has been carefully thought out.

Member of the exclusive international luxury network Small Luxury Hotels of the World, Carmo's Boutique Hotel is the only hotel in the Northern region to join this exclusive list of candidates in the category of Luxury Boutique Hotel.

However, this is not its first appointment as it has already been the target of several national and international awards, such as the Best of Wine Tourism 2016 award, granted by the global network Great Wine Capitals; The Luxury Boutique Hotel of the Year 2015, awarded by the prestigious Luxury Travel Guide; Recognition as Europe's Best Relaxation Retreat 2015, awarded by the World Boutique Hotel Awards; or the nomination by Condé Nast Traveler as "one of the best new hotels in the world" in 2013, among others. To this list of distinctions the debut in the nomination for The World Luxury Hotel Awards can be added.

Celebrating this year's tenth edition, The World Luxury Hotel Awards carefully selects a list of luxury hotels from around the world in 50 different categories. The voting for the best hotel is undertaken by the public, reflecting, in this way, the true recognition of the guests in relation to the work developed by each hotel and its team.
