Alto Minho is finalist for the Galardão "Sustainability Stories Awards", under the program "Green Destinations". Presented by CIM and subscribed by the ten counties of Alto Minho, the story, promotes the Nautical Tourism, through the creation of accessible, sustainable and inclusive products and itineraries.

"Green Destinations" is an international program which distinguishes and recognizes the efforts of the tourist destinations in implementing management strategies and measures which contribute to territorial sustainability of a diversified group of different areas (culture and tradition; nature and landscape; climate and environment), and an independent on-site audit.

Nominated in the category Tourism Reset & Recovery, Alto Minho's story called "Working together towards recovery: The good practice manual for nautical activities", promoted tourist attractiveness of the territory. In this way, it was possible to upgrade resources linked to the sea, river and nature, which allowed to create new opportunities for the people involved, and consequently help them overcome difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

In addition to the possibility of being awarded in the "Tourism Reset & Recovery" category, that distinguishes the commitment and work of the tourist destination managers in maintaining a sustainable territory, the story can still be the public's choice, if it gets the most votes.
