Ponte de Lima commemorates World Tourism Day - September 27 Tourist Destination
25 Sep 2018 Ponte de Lima commemorates World Tourism Day - September 27

The Municipality of Ponte de Lima associated itself to the celebrations of the World Tourism Day, which is commemorated on September 27.

Tourism and digital transformation is the theme of this year's World Tourism Day (WTD). Digital progress is transforming the way we communicate the tourism potential of each region, focusing on innovation and the creation of sustainable and responsible growth strategies.

As usual, on World Tourism Day, the Oldest Village in Portugal will share a special gift, living up its reputation as an Artisan of Welcoming.

Thus, on World Tourism Day, the Interactive Tourism Shop of Ponte de Lima will provide visitors with wine tasting and gastronomic products from Ponte de Lima, namely the famous Ponte de Lima Sarrabulho à Moda dish, which is a certified product and a true economic lever of the county.

This event results in a diverse array of flavours and knowledge that reveal the gastronomic and wine wealth of Ponte de Lima, and will have the support of the Gastronomic Coterie of the Sarrabulho à Moda de Ponte de Lima.

It is an excellent business card that promises to appeal to everyone’s appetite so that they will visit again and experience the gastronomic delicacies, the good wines, and the culture, a party of the senses ... that do not fit within local and regional limits. They fit, evermore, in the fond memories of all those who make Ponte de Lima a must visit place. In this context, a challenge was launched on the social networks "Publish your photos of Ponte de Lima with Hashtag # VISITPONTEDLIMA2018. This challenge is growing according to the records published by those who have passed through here and recorded the moment.

The celebration of World Tourism Day in Ponte de Lima looks promising. For more information see: www.visitepontedelima.pt/en.
